The name of the unit for children with severe speech and language disorders is the Ruardean Communication and Interaction Centre. Ruardean Communication and Interaction Centre caters for children with communication and interaction problems including children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Many of these children also have severe receptive and expressive language disorders. The Centre is part of a mainstream primary. The children are integrated in mainstream wherever possible. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
