The school has a special educational needs (SEN) department. The specialist teaching assistant provides an overview of the well-being of our students diagnosed autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Also we provide a safe staffed area for respite during break/lunch and social support. There is in-class support to ensure understanding of curriculum as well as dealing with difficulties such as group work, following class instructions and general difficulty with accepting instructions. We are an inclusive comprehensive community school with an on-site Area Resource Base for severe learning difficulties (SLD).
