Scottish Autism - Clannalba Respite and Transitional Assessment Centre

Main information

Type of service: Assessment, Respite and short breaks, Supported living schemes

Clannalba is Scottish Autism's respite and assessment centre for children and adults with autism. At Clannalba, residential respite care and family support are brought together as an integrated service, offering flexible, individual support to children and adults with autism and their families. Clannalba offers a range of planned and purposeful periods of respite for children and adults from Scotland and beyond. Breaks range from a few hours, to a single night to two or three week stays during holidays. We offer activity breaks, team weekends and daytime support. Our environment allows each person the freedom and space they need. Clannalba also provides a service which allows young and mature adults to prepare for a more independent life with full support, while living in a self-contained two-bedroom bungalow. To monitor progress reviews are held every three months. As the service is personalised to the requirements of the individual, the review process provides information as to how long a person will stay. Support is 1:1 and 24 hour with staff sleeping over in the apartment. We continue our support during the transition from Clannalba to their future home
