Shared Lives South West
Main information
Type of service: Day services, Respite and short breaks
Shared Lives South West (formerly known as “South West
Adult Placement Scheme (SWAPS)”) provides accommodation, care and support
services for vulnerable people over the age of 18. Our services are provided in
the ordinary family homes of our carefully selected, trained and supported
Shared Lives carers. People who use our
services may have a learning disability, be on the autism spectrum, have mental
health problems or needs related to older age (including dementia) - or any
combination of these. Shared Lives arrangements are flexible and enable people
to have more of a say about their daily lives.
People who use our services are able to be more active in their own
community and enjoy a greater degree of independence than might be possible in
other care environments. We provide long-term, short breaks and respite
services and day services. .
