Dr Sheldon is a medical doctor who has been diagnosing and treating children, teenagers and (later on) adults on the autism spectrum since 1991 as a young trainee doctor. He has broad training and experience encompassing child and adolescent psychiatry, developmental and hospital paediatrics, adult psychiatry and learning disability psychiatry in children and adults. He has worked with all the allied disciplines and professionals in health and education. He has taught, lectured and produced research in neurodevelopmental medicine. His final post in the National Health Service (NHS) was Honorary Consultant at St George's Hospital, London. As a result, Dr Sheldon provides comprehensive, specific and individualised assessments across the entire age range and offers a broad and flexible range of treatment approaches making referrals as appropriate. .
Assessment procedure: Comprehensive developmental, emotional, behavioural, learning and mental health assessment.
Follow up service: For any treatment - psychological, behavioural or medical that is appropriate to provide and is requested.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes, professions involved: Clinical psychology, paediatrics, neurology, speech and language therapy, educational psychology, Cognitive-behaviour therapists, psychotherapists and counsellors.
