Sibs is for people who grow up with a brother or sister with special needs, disability, chronic illness. This group of people are often referred to as 'siblings'. It runs workshops and conferences on sibling issues throughout the UK; produces fact sheets on sibling issues for siblings, parents and professionals; maintains a website on sibling issues; works with service providers to get local services for young siblings going; sets up networks of adult siblings; provides training for professionals working with siblings; offers support to siblings, parents and professionals over the phone and gives tips for dealing with sibling issues; raises public awareness of sibling issues; finds out what really makes a positive difference for siblings and lets people know about it. Sibs also provides an online support service specifically for brothers and sisters under 18 of disabled children and young people, YoungSibs: www.youngsibs.org.uk
