Autism assessments are delivered by professionals in a range of community settings depending on the age and needs of the child or young person. The assessment may include: Autism Diagnostic Interview, revised (ADi ®), Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) (1 or 2), speech and language assessment, cognitive assessment, school report/observation and others if indicated (usually by referral to other colleagues). The autism panel meets once a month when referrals are discussed and decisions made on whether to assess and what kind of assessment the child or young person needs. The outcome of the panel decision is relayed to the referrer and parents/carers by the case co-ordinator..

Follow up service: Yes, Hampshire Autistic Society provide information, guidance and advice as appropriate.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes: clinical psychology, paediatrics, psychiatry, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, nurse therapy, family support worker.
