South Lakeland Autism and Asperger's Syndrome Support Group
Main information
Type of service: Local groups
Service URL: http://www.southlakesautism.co.uk
The intentions of the group are to give support to families and individuals who are in need of assistance and guidance in dealing with family members and individuals who may otherwise feel there is no help available to them. The group holds regular meetings where family members and individuals may gather to express their concerns and discuss relevant issues surrounding family members or individuals in need of guidance and support. The parents in The South Lakeland support group have children from across the spectrum and have a wide range of experience - for example, various schools, services and therapies. Through coffee mornings you could meet someone in your area with a similar child. Other parents are a valuable source of information and tips for dealing with particular behaviour problems. The open meetings are opportunities to speak to a wider range of parents and interested professionals.
