Students are referred by outside agencies or from other schools. We have a specific provision within the school called The Hub, which supports the students parents and carers, colleagues and other schools. We have an autism spectrum condition (ASC) specialist teacher who co-ordinates the provision and a specialist Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who only works with the ASC population and their parents/carers. We use Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH) and Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) approaches. We provide inreach and outreach informally.
