We provide specialist assessments and interventions for children, young people and their families and/or a care system for those who are experiencing complex mental health difficulties. We also provide consultation support to services/agencies supporting our care groups. As part of our assessments we may use a broad range of assessment tools/approaches depending on the presenting needs including interviews, observations, questionnaires and standardised assessment tools. We have experience of working with people who are on the autism spectrum and are able to make home visits and/or visit a client's nursery, school or college.
Assessment procedure: Within Nottingham City and South county we contribute to multi-agency assessments as part of a Complex communication clinic. We provide MDT assessments, lead by clinical psychology within our service for children and young people where there are concerns regarding possible autism or ASD features.
Follow up service: Yes, a follow up service is offered. Follow up support is provided for presenting mental health needs which for children might manifest itself through behaviour difficulties.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: A multi disciplinary approach is offered with specialists in clinical psychology; paediatrics; psychiatry; speech and language therapy; and, nurse specialists trained in diagnostic assessment tools.
