Spectrum
Main information
Type of service: Local groups, Social groups, Social skills
Spectrum is a free, weekly adult autism social group that meets twice a week at Time & Talents, in Rotherhithe, on Mondays (2-4pm) and Thursdays (5.30-7.30pm). The group offers a safe and inclusive environment where you can take a break from everyday life, meet other autistic adults, and share ideas and activities.
The idea behind the Monday afternoon group is to provide a safe and welcoming place for adults with autism to come and meet likeminded people, discuss their lives and any potential problems in a safe environment. Typically, the group will have a cup of tea, whilst playing a game and chatting. Although, not everyone chooses to play the game, some prefer to do their own activity.
The Thursday evening group has a more user lead focus. With the aim of building skills and confidence of the adults, the activities in the session are planned by service users with the support of a trained member of staff. Activities can include arts and crafts, games, challenges, quizzes and much more! Within this group, we will aim to do a monthly trip to local amusements during the session.
You don't need to come every week - just drop in when you want to! (But you'll get more out of the group if you can come regularly.
