Caters for a wide spectrum of special educational needs (SEN), most have challenging behaviour. The school follows the National Curriculum in an adapted and differential format. Teaching groups average 6 to 8 pupils with 3 staff. All pupils have Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Management Plan (BMPs), Individual Risk Assessment (IRAs) and Integrated Care Pathways (ICPs). Various therapies are available appropriate to need. The school offers 38 and 52 week placements and takes pupils from 9-19 years. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils and need to be fully Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked by Barnardos. The teacher-pupil with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) ratio in the school is dependent on individual need.
