Springwell School

The name of the units for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are the Blue Class and Green Class. Springwell School is a special school for children with severe, moderate or profound learning difficulties. The school also contains two units for children with ASD. Our pupils are predominately from the Hartlepool area although children do attend the school from other educational authorities. At present we have 66 children on roll. Another website offered by the school is www.friendsofspringwellschool.co.uk. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. The school uses a structured approach including Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped CHildren (TEACCH). We are happy to accept children from many different education authorities in addition to Hartlepool, Durham, Stockton and Middlesbrough.
