Main information
Type of service: Day schools, Outreach - education, Schools
St Anthony’s School is a maintained specialist school for boys and girls aged 5 to 16 years. There are 200 pupils on roll all with statements of special educational needs (SEN). There is a department for primary aged pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and in the secondary school an 'exceptional needs department'. A large number of pupils have ASD but the school's primary focus is on children with moderate learning / speech and language difficulties. Pupils in the secondary school are expected to be able to integrate into the main part of the school. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils with full police checks and after interview. Another extra curricular activity offered by the school is residential visits. The farm and outdoor animals are at Brinsbury College not directly on our site but our pupils visit one day a week as appropriate in Key Stage 4. The stables are riding for the disabled in the primary department.
