St Elizabeth’s School is an all age mixed residential special school (with 11 day placements). The school is a centre of experience in supporting and educating young people who have severe learning disabilities (SLD) or moderate learning disabilities (MLD) or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) or other neurological condition which may have been caused or complicated by epilepsy often with other associated disabilities and conditions. 70 per cent of the school population feature autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or autism in their complex needs profiles. Most students are taught in mixed need classes. The school is supported by multi-therapy teams and uses ELKLAN approaches to develop staff and used sensory modulation awareness. We work closely with external agencies such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) teams and the schools nursing and therapy services are closely supported by a clinical psychologist. Pupils living outside the United Kingdom (UK) are accepted subject to funding and suitability - none at the moment.
