We are a primary school, with a capacity of 75 places. We have children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD), and a small number of children with other needs. We have 3 specialist classes for children with ASD, but also have children with ASD in the other 6 classes. We use the Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework in our approach, and use Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped CHildren (TEACCH) for those children who need it. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Another disability catered for by the school is moderate learning difficulties with additional complex needs.
