The school is now part of a federation with St Bernards School in Louth which is another special school. The federation is called the Lincolnshire Wolds Federation. St Bernard's is part of the Lincolnshire Specialist Outreach Service accredited by The National Autistic Society (NAS) for delivering outreach for social communication difficulties, including autism. The federation is also accredited with the Aim for Lincolnshire Autism award from the local authority. This is a day special school for pupils with severe, moderate, learning difficulties. Around half of the students have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Pupils with ASD are educated both throughout the school and in specific groups/classes.
