St. Piers School, part of Young Epilepsy, the operating name of The National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE), provides a unique learning environment for children aged 5 to 16 and a sixth form for 16 to 19 year olds who have epilepsy and/or other complex needs including autism. The school delivers a comprehensive programme based on the National Curriculum, modified as necessary, to ensure the needs of every student are met both inside the classroom and out. Staff from every discipline work together to help every student achieve. An all year round residential children's homes service has also been introduced for students attending St Piers School whose complex needs require specialist support throughout their day and beyond term time. Students attending St Piers School may progress to The NCYPE's College provision at its onsite St Piers Further Education College. All volunteers must pass an advanced criminal records bureau (CRB) check and most complete relevant training courses prior to starting any voluntary position run by the course. Other interventions, approaches and programmes offered by the school are price and signalong.
