Main information
Type of service: Counsellor, Training providers, Interventions and therapies, Training providers
.
.
Counselling for children aged 8 and upwards, adolescents and adults. I am accredited by: The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as a MBACP independent counsellor/psychotherapist and am registered with The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Counselling sessions are held at the NAS Ladbroke Grove Autism Centre. I offer a solution-focused style of counselling, made up of Person centred, Psychodynamic, Existential phenomenology, with additional experience gained from voluntary work.
.
I have been able to adapt and evolve the counselling specifically to people with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). The counselling sessions are £65.00 for 50 mins and £70.00 for 50 mins for Couple Counselling. Counselling via video conferencing (Skype or VSee) or via telephone is also available, at a cost of £40. There may be times when I would be able to travel to see a client at their home, to be negotiated between Therapist (Leslie Stanberry) and client; at the request of a client, parents or carers of a potential client, but I would have to add on travel expenses for this. However, in some cases I am prepared to work on a sliding scale, depending on a client's financial circumstances. The environment I work from at Ladbroke Grove is conducive for people with ASDs..
.
I also provide training to help facilitate a greater awareness of ASDs. Here are some examples of the themes covered by the workshop:.
.
• Transition from childhood to adulthood.
• Diagnosis, late diagnosis and mis-diagnosis.
• Challenging backgrounds institutionalisation.
• Developing social skills.
• Ethnicity.
• Providing appropriate Counselling and psychotherapy. .
.
Another mode of counselling provided by the service is online video conferencing..
