Stockport Child Development Unit (CDC)

Type of service: Diagnostic services, Child Development Centres (CDC)

The Unit provides assessment and support for pre-school children up to Reception start with complex developmental needs. The aim is to provide early identification, diagnosis and, where possible, planned intervention to ensure families receive continuity of support from birth enabling children to reach their full potential. Referral is usually through your family doctor, health visitor or other health professional if the child is a Stockport resident and registered with a Stockport general practitioner (GP).

Multi-disciplinary assessment: Consultant paediatrician, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, nursery nurses, specialist health visitor.
