The clubs provide social activities for children and young people with autism spectrum disorder, aged between 5-13 years and 13-18 years. They encourage the young people to develop friendships and social networks and increase their independence, self confidence, self esteem and social skills. They encourage inclusion and seek opportunities for the young people to take an active part in the community. They provide support and a break for parents and siblings. 5-13s Club: Sessions are held every other Saturday from 10am-1pm and are run by qualified, experienced and dedicated staff and volunteers. At the club the children have the opportunity to choose from organised and free play activities in the computer and craft rooms, sport hall, games area and lounge. Drinks and snacks are provided. Sessions cost £16 per month to be paid by direct debit. The sessions are held at Childer Road Community Centre. 13-18s Club: Activities are held once every 4 weeks on a Saturday from 10am-2pm. Teenagers who regularly take part in these activities help plan and organise what they would like to do. In the past the club has been bowling, roller skating and to the cinema. Often public transport is used and extra activities are planned during school holidays. Costs per session vary depending on activities.
