Type of service: Residential services
Suillean House is a small residential care home which provides personal care to 9 residents on a 24 hour basis. Each resident has an Individual Plan of Care which has been agreed by the home manager, parents/advocates and the placing authority. Residents are encouraged to integrate within their community by attending local events such as village fetes and fundraisers. Care staff assist each resident to develop the skills required for independent living such as: completing their weekly shopping, cleaning their home, gardening, cooking and visiting places of interest. Residents are encouraged to make as many decisions as possible within their everyday lives and access services and facilities within their community such as GP, dentist, sports centres and colleges. Residents are supported by their staff to go on an annual holiday to different places in the country and even abroad.
