Tarry Hill
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
Tarry Hill aims to be a provider of quality services for people with learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder. It is a renovated farmhouse together with a three-bedded bungalow and three four-bedded town houses. In each house there are communal lounges, kitchen/diner and garden. All rooms are decorated with their service user's participation and therefore represent their tastes and desires and they are encouraged to place their own belongings within their rooms to create a homely atmosphere. Each service user has a detailed pre-admission assessment, a personalised care plan that identifies individual needs, and a care programme that is structured to respond to those needs. All care programmes make use of a wide range of community resources including shops, restaurants, leisure entertainment facilities and further education opportunities. The centre is situated in the heart of the peak district, in a semi-rural residential area. Referrals to Tarry Hill can be made through Social Services.
