The Bemrose School
Main information
Type of service: Day schools, Schools
The Bemrose School has two Enhanced Resource Facilities. One is based within the mainstream school and pupils are well integrated into mainstream lessons with support. The students have communication difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders (ASD.) These pupils have a wide range of abilities and have access to the full National Curriculum. Their development is assisted by social skills programmes and individual support packages according to need. The second facility, Elmtree, caters purely for students with autism; these students may access some mainstream lessons with support, but spend much of their time in the Elmtree facility. Their programmes of study are tailored specifically to their individual needs and the staff/pupil ratio is higher than that of the mainstream facility.
