The Best We Can Be
Main information
Type of service: Family support and information services, Social groups
For many years Autism East Midlands (formerly NORSACA) has been successful in running an activities scheme and parent, carer support group called The Best We Can Be. This group was first set up by parents and carers requiring advise, support and meaningful activities for their children to access. The scheme is popular with both Parents and young people who otherwise might struggle to access the opportunities which it provides. All of the children receive 'structured' support whilst attending the group and taking part in activities. Regularly parents request this group as their experience of other services has not always been positive, or their child has been excluded from services. The scheme runs every 3rd Tuesday in the month on an evening 4pm until 8.30pm. Call Lisa on 01909 509400 to find out more or go to www.autismeastmidlands.org.uk.
