The Lodge Trust

Main information

Type of service: Further & Higher Education, Employment services, Residential services

The Lodge Trust was established to make a Christian provision for adults with learning disabilities. Homes for up to 30 adults are provided in 4 houses and 5 independent living flats, each having their own identity and individual character. More than half of our rooms have en-suite facilities and all our residents have their own key to their room. All rooms and areas are spacious and comfortable. Our gardens and grounds set in our 20 acre site give plenty of space for walking, safe bike riding and enjoyment of the countryside. We provide a range of work and training on site for our residents. Work opportunities include catering; craft and woodwork (making a range of products available in our cafe and elsewhere); horticulture (within the grounds); laundry and cleaning; customer service (in our popular Country Park Cafe). Residents enjoy using their various skills within the range of work teams mostly on site, but also in the local community. There are others from the local community who join the teams on a daily basis. Some of the work is centred around looking after the community we live in, while other work is creative and productive, making a range of products which are sold in the Lodge Country Park Cafe and elsewhere. We work with each resident to help them develop Person Centred Plans; Health Action Plans and Communication Passports, which are reviewed at least once each year. Specific individual needs are identified and supported by our ‘Key Workers’ and ‘Link Workers’.
