The New Eccles Hall School
Main information
Type of service: Day schools, Residential schools, Schools
New Eccles Hall is a mixed independent boarding and day school for pupils aged between 5 and 18 years. Classes are small, 8-15 in the junior part of the school and no more than 15 in the senior school. Children are streamed according to their ability in core subjects in the senior school and all pupils have access to a balanced broad based curriculum. Pupils with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are fully integrated into classes and all staff have experience in dealing with their difficulties. The New Eccles Hall School has at its heart a thriving Individual Tuition Unit which caters for children with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD and social and communication and speech and language difficulties. These pupils receive tuition on a 1-to-1 basis on a withdrawal basis, up to five lessons a week depending on need. The consistency of expectation, structure and discipline between the school and the boarding settings helps all pupils but particularly the ASD pupils who are able to feel secure, supported yet able to develop independence. Overseas pupils who are not resident in the United Kingdom (UK) must have UK guardians.
