The Psychology Partnership
Main information
Type of service: Assessment, Educational Psychologists (independent), Interventions and therapies
Following postgraduate training where part of my study was in a regional autism centre I have continued to work with children and young people with autism as part of a wider generic practice. I completed a further training in applied behavioural analysis. However my approach varies and with some of the children with significant challenging behaviour I use intensive interaction and dynamic assessment in the assessment and intervention. I like to have a session with parents at the start of the process and this is just parents without the child. Then I always like to observe in school/ nursery etc before seeing the child/young person individually. Within the assessment normative tests used include WPPSI, WISC, WIAT, TEA -Ch , NEPSY and any other tests that may be relevant to the situation. I can provide independent expert reports and attend tribunals/educational appeal committees.
