The Ryes College and Community has been set up to cater for young people aged 11-18 years with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other complex needs, offering 38-52 week placements for 6 young people in care and education. The Ryes College and Community caters for 11-18 years through mixed groups of students with ASD and complex needs. The Ryes College provides 52 week therapeutic care and education to children with emotional behavioural and social difficulties (EBSD) and other complex needs. Our main school site is based in Aldham near Colchester in Essex. Young people reside either at the main school site or at one of our cluster homes in the nearby town of Sudbury depending on their individual needs and assessment. Pump Farm School Assington is part of the Ryes School. Pump Farm is registered as an independent school providing specialised education for students aged from 11-18 years who hold Statements of Special Educational Needs for ASDs and other associated social and communication difficulties or complex needs. Residential care for those students and young people is provided on site. Domiciliary, emergency, holiday, planned and residential respite services are also open to pupils from outside the school. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
