The Social Agency is a fortnightly support group for higher functioning adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It runs on Mondays in four venues across North Staffordshire. The groups use drama and other arts processes to help build people's confidence and explore issues pertinent to participants' lives. Its overall aim is to reduce social isolation, especially for those living in a rural area. In addition to fortnightly groups, there are occasional more intensive arts projects where the focus is on the creation of an artistic product. The Social Agency is run by Rideout (Creative Arts for Rehabilitation) with a steering group that includes participants of the groups. The service offers drama and other expressive arts focus.
