This is a primary school for pupils between the ages of 3-11 years. Currently we have 2 designated autism spectrum disorder (ASD) classes - Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Pupils with ASD are educated in groups with other children as well. We cater for ASD, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), Asperger syndrome, challenging behaviour and severe learning difficulties (SLD). The pupils are divided by age between 2 sites. The west site accommodates the after school special needs club. The school provides an outreach service to the Eastbourne area and works to support individual pupils in mainstream and to support schools in managing the needs of ASD pupils. The school has been accredited by The National Autistic Society (NAS). Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils following a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. Other facilities provided by the school are extended school day and holiday play schemes. There are also 2 sensory suites, 1 in each site. Other extra curriculum activities offered by the school are residential visits eg camping.
