Thornfield House School and Outreach Services

Thornfield House School opened in January 1986 as a specialist provision to cater for the needs of children and young people with specific speech and language impairments. Currently the school has places for 90 pupils who are accommodated in 9 class units. The Thornfield Outreach Service has been involved in supporting children with speech and language impairment in North Eastern Education and Library Board (NEELB) mainstream schools since January 1999. Speech and Language Therapists working in Thornfield House School are all employed and managed by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT).

Age: From age 3 to 16

Covers: Antrim and Newtownabbey, Ards and North Down, Belfast, Causeway Coast and Glens, Derry City and Strabane, Lisburn and Castlereagh, Mid and East Antrim, Mid Ulster, Newry, Mourne and Down
