Turning Point Scotland - Moray Supported Living Project
Main information
Type of service: Supported living schemes
Service URL: http://www.turningpointscotland.com
Greyfriars Close provides housing support and care at home for twelve adults with learning disabilities. Tenants live in their own flats within the building and each tenant has access to communal areas. Tenants range from young to elderly, each with their own individual requirements in terms of physical, social and medical needs. Greyfriars Close is funded by The Moray Council and Supporting People to provide core care and undertake enhanced housing management tasks within the development. The staff team provide 24 hour support with a waker/sleep-in cover. Each tenant has a key worker who acts at all times in consultation with the tenant. The tenants' choice of who they want to act as their keyworker is taken into consideration when allocating keyworkers. Through person centred planning each tenant will have detailed, desired outcomes, defining day to day occupational opportunities and experiences that involves the tenant and support staff, thereby enabling the tenant to attain their aspirations and ambitions. The tenants hold assured tenancies with Grampian Housing Association with all the consequent rights and protections, and Turning Point Scotland provides the necessary support to maintain their tenancies.
