Type of service: Day schools, Schools

Pupils with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are educated in mainstream classes, with some small group withdrawal in mixed groups to address social skills and literacy where appropriate. A8 is available as a "safe haven" at breaks and lunchtimes for those who find it difficult to cope with the usual large school environment. Volunteers who are training on LSA courses may be accepted to work with the pupils.
