If a young person lives in the City of Coventry and are aged 7 years to 19 years, then the agency working with the child or young person and who knows them best can make a referral to Vibes. This can be done electronically via email or with a paper copy. Vibes provides three social support groups for children and young people: The Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Youth/Support Group is for young people aged 11-15 (group 1) and 16-19 (group 2) at the medium to high-functioning end of the autistic spectrum, such as those with Asperger syndrome and high functioning autism (HFA). The Children's Support Group is for children aged 7-10 experiencing a wide range emotional, and mental health issues; including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), depression, very low self-esteem and those who care for parents with mental ill health. Each group meets once a week after school during term time and provide a variety of social and informal educational opportunities which encourage young people to develop their confidence, self-esteem, social skills and understanding of their emotional health.
