Befriending Service for adults with autism in Walsall. Befrienders are volunteers who give their time to support people with autism. They will spend time doing activities that the befriendee will enjoy. This could be as simple as drinking coffee in a coffee shop, shopping, going swimming, attending cultural events or taking part in hobbies or activities relating to a special interest. Befriending activities take place in groups and on an individual basis. Each befriender will have training so they will understand how autism can affect people. This project is open to adults with autism or Asperger Syndrome who are residents of Walsall borough and registered with a Walsall GP.
