The school is co-educational and can support children who have various disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). All children are supported on a one to one basis. The school provides a good broad, needs based curriculum alongside skill training for children who, because of their individual needs, are struggled to access regular education provision. A 24-hour curriculum (for children accessing our residential services) is also offered. The school formulates Individual Education Plans for each child. Reviews are held at six monthly periods. The school is staffed with a highly skilled and qualified team of professionals and offers a wide range of educational and therapeutic resources, placing emphasis on the National Curriculum, communication and self-directed behaviour strategies for a lifelong learning programme. The school offers a complete educational package at key stages and aims to return pupils to mainstream provision where possible. The Education Centre has built an excellent reputation for its successful achievements in behaviour modification. The school prides itself on 'turning the corner' for many children who prior to placement, have been excluded from often, several educational establishments. These children not only attend regularly but participate in the lessons provided and enjoy their time spent in school, whilst building their self esteem. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. The school uses the SPELL framework.
