Type of service: Respite and short breaks

Offers a range of different respite for children with additional support needs. Outreach respite - respite care is provided in the family home in order that parents can go out to do shopping, spend time with family members, meet a friend for coffee, or even have a bath in peace. Activity respite - the child is taken out by a member of staff to participate in a variety of activities. It could include one of the following: multi-sensory room; hydrotherapy pool; soft play at the sports centre; visits to local play parks and beaches; country walks. Residential respite break - Hillcrest is our residential facility in which a part of the building has been adapted to meet the needs of children with disabilities. Referrals for respite care can come from health, social work, education and parents.
