Referrals are only accepted by Westminster Learning Disability Partnerships via Care Manager. We support people with a learning disability who are open to Westminster Learning Disability Partnership and meet the current criteria and also people with a physical disability via referral from a Health Professional/s. We can only accept referrals from our own Care Management and they must meet meeting the Customer Eligibility Threshold as determined by Westminster Learning Disability Partnership as from April 2015 and be a Westminster resident. Westminster Employment specialises in supporting people with significant barriers to find employment. The main people we support are: People with Learning Disabilities. This contract is provided by Westminster City Council (WCC); We have a contract with Westminster Works to provide supported employment services to people with mental health issues, substance misuse issues, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and young offenders; and We have a current contract with Ingeus. The people sent to us are long-term unemployed and have additional barriers to unemployment such as a learning difficulty /disability, substance misuse, criminal records or/and mental health. Many people also have communication difficulties. The team offers: CV creation; work taster sessions; work experience placements; regular job searches and job matching; help completing application forms; interview preparation; conviction disclosure letters; job coaching sessions (on-the-job); confidence building; and training of and problem solving with employers if required..
