I am a British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) registered Counsellor specialising in autism spectrum conditions (ASCs) and related issues and co-morbidities. I began training in 2003 and since 2011 I have worked solely with adults, children, adolescence and couples on the autism spectrum for an autism charity. I now work in private practice in Piddlehinton near Dorchester and Dorchester town centre. I can also offer telephone and Skype sessions for people unable to come to me. I hold a level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a level 5 diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and I am on the last leg of a MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice at Bath Spa University and my research topic is about autism and counselling. I hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure, I have the appropriate insurance, I am a member of BACP and I adhere to their Ethical Framework for The Counselling Professions. As well as doing counselling I run a well being discussion group on Tuesday evenings at Piddlehinton Village Hall from 7pm-9pm and everyone is welcome, I charge £5 per person for this group which includes hire of the hall and to include refreshments. I undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and I started my Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) Level 6 certificate in Supervision in 2018. I specialise in providing counselling and training for adults, couples, adolescents and children on the autism spectrum. I also work with family members and carers. I facilitate groups such as social skills based and therapeutic groups for adults on the autism spectrum and for parents. Counselling approaches used: Cognitive behavioural therapy; Person Centred; Transactional Analysis; and Solution focused. I offer counselling to adults, children, adolescents, parents, siblings, family members, carers and professionals such as mental health workers..
