The main purposes of the placement are: to use one year placement in an educational setting to assess needs and advise on future provision and to check on learning rate and ways of learning; to make possible continual close observation and assessment by multi-agencies; and to support parents to develop a better understanding of the different needs of their child and to involve them in the decision of future provision.
