Woodside School is a community special school for pupils all of whom have a statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) relating to cognitive learning difficulties. 45 per cent of our students are on the autism spectrum, 24 per cent have speech and language difficulties and additionally some have medical needs. Woodside School currently has 3 Key Stage 1 (KS1) students but with effect from September 2015 admissions will be for KS2, KS3 and KS4. Those students who are also on the autism spectrum will be relocated to a new site in Colyers Lane, Erith in April 2014. The Colyers site will provide a new 6th form. The school supports the Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH) approach and uses a range of other strategies and interventions.
