Speech and Language Therapists provide ongoing assessment and intervention for children with ASD (or suspected ASD) aged 4 to 19 within a school based environment. This includes: comprehensive holistic school based assessment; ongoing monitoring/review of the child’s speech, language and communication needs; consultation with education colleagues; collaborative working to set IEP targets and for target setting advice; therapy – language work, social skills groups; social skills training for schools; drop ins – for parents/professionals involved with the child with ASD to attend in between reviews for advice/discussion; Programme Support Service – for schools/families to access additional help with carrying out a child’s SLT programme.
