Sarah Hammond tribute
Sarah Hammond was one of the National Autistic Society’s student fundraisers. She was due to take part in the Artic Dog Sled with Loughborough University in April 2020, which was unfortunately postponed due to Coronavirus.
We have all been truly saddened to hear that Sarah took her own life in June 2020, and that she won’t have the opportunity to complete the challenge which we know she was so looking forward too.
Our Charity meant a lot to Sarah and due to her personal experience with supporting young people with autism, she understood the challenge autistic people can face on a daily basis and the lack of understanding from the public at times. Sarah was a busy young lady with a demanding university course and cheer leading training and yet she was still committed to the charity and managed to fundraise the fantastic amount of £2,701.05.
In Sarah’s memory, we would like to acknowledge the incredible fundraising she achieved. It is the work and dedication of people like Sarah that enables us to continue to support autistic people and their families.
