Wales
An overview of our campaigns in Wales
Senedd Election 2021
We know that autistic children and young people struggle to get the right help in school and autistic adults face huge challenges in getting the support they need too, especially for their mental health. We must also improve public understanding of autism so that autistic people and families can feel included and accepted in their communities.
Now is the time for action.
We must to strengthen the rights of autistic people and their families in Wales, so they can get the services and support they need, when they need them.
The next Welsh Government must act to deliver the changes and improvements that autistic people and their families in Wales are asking for.

Autism code of practice

Autism Act for Wales
Following our campaign for an Autism Act for Wales, calling for a similar law to those in place in other UK nations to protect and promote the rights of autistic people and their families, the Welsh Government have committed to develop a Code of Practice on the Delivery of Autism services. This will create legal duties on public services to better meet the needs of autistic people. The Welsh Government previously asked autistic people and their families what the proposed Code should include and will shortly be consulting again on the draft Code to ensure it is as effective as it can be.
We will be encouraging our members and supporters from across Wales to have their say on the Code to make sure that leads of the improvements we need to see.
