Dr Sarah Lister-Brook is Clinical Director for the National Autistic Society, overseeing clinical and assessment services across the life-span and therapeutic services for children and young people within our schools. Sarah is also Clinical Lead for the diagnostic services provided through the Lorna Wing Centres for Autism.
Sarah kindly agreed to an interview with us when she attended the National Autistic Society Professional Conference in 2019.
In this interview Sarah discusses the assessment of autistic people, particularly those with complex presentations. Sarah outlines the approach used at the Lorna Wing Centre and explores the barriers to autism diagnosis that some people face. Sarah also discusses what improvements she feels are needed in post-diagnostic support for autistic people and their families.
