Care UK
Main information
Type of service: Service providers
Founded in 1982, Care UK has grown to become one of the leading providers of health and social care services in the UK. We run GP centres, hospitals, care homes and provide support for people within the community. With everything we do, our aim is the same: to help people live more independent and fulfilling lives..
Our teams can help people with learning disabilities acquire the skills they need to live a more independent and fulfilling life. We have the expertise to provide support for a range of complex conditions which include autism and Asperger syndrome. We also understand that learning disabilities can sometimes come with behavioural challenges and have the experience and sensitivity to understand and work through difficult behaviour. We support people throughout their life - whether they have a need for temporary respite, long term support or access and treatment during periods of crisis. Our approach is based on person-centred planning - which simply means we put the customer at the heart of all we do, taking the time to understand their unique needs and aspirations to develop a support plan which will make a difference to their lives. This support may include anything from basic personal needs - such as washing and personal grooming - to administration of medicines, helping around the house, and accessing the local community. We encourage our clients to pursue appropriate education and work opportunities to help build their confidence and life skills and also to pursue personal interests, take up new hobbies or develop their social networks. .
