Oaklands provides community-based services to adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs, encompassing individuals who fall under the ASD diagnosis. Services aim to promote the individual to maximise their independence and to be a part of the community that they live in. People are supported to use their services in accordance with their individual needs, aims, hopes and aspirations using a person centred approach. Each individual is encouraged and supported to explore options that form part of a programme of meaningful activities such as finding employment or volunteer opportunities, developing through education and activities that offer opportunities to develop friendships. Referrals are accepted from other agencies and self-referrals. Occasionally volunteers may be accepted to work with service users.
