Options Barton is a specialist residential care and education service offering day, short breaks, outreach and up to 52-week residential placements. Situated in the small town of Barton-upon-Humber, Options Barton is a purpose-built service providing integrated programmes of care, education and clinical services for children and young people aged 8 to 19 years with autism, learning disabilities and associated complex needs. Located on the same site as is The Bridge@Barton, a specialist unit within Options Barton providing specialist day school for children and young people aged 8 to 19 years with high functioning autism and Asperger syndrome. The Bridge@Barton supports students to achieve accredited qualifications, develop their confidence and self-esteem, and equips them with the skills they require for positive integration into Further Education (FE) or employment. Staff throughout Options Barton are passionate about delivering person-centred care and educational programmes that are designed to help young people learn and achieve in areas including personal development and academic accreditation. Options Barton's on-site clinical services include Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Assistant Psychology, with a Consultant Clinical Psychologist doubling as the clinical lead. Working closely with the education and care teams within the service to maximise young people's learning and development, using the Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework..
