Pre-Five Community Assessment Team (PreFCAT) (CDC)

PreFCAT multi-agency process is recognised by all agencies as forum for diagnosis of children under the age of 5 years with an autism spectrum disorder in the Falkirk area. Agencies involved in diagnosis are paediatrics and speech and language therapy, and can include any of the following: occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work, health visitor, educational psychology service and pre-school establishments. PreFCAT can make referral and recommendations to additional agencies for follow-up services.
Assessment procedure: Multi-agency feedback meeting involving parents and all relevant agencies, at which all reports are tabled. Recommendations/outcomes are recorded and sent out as a final package to parents and agencies.
Follow up service: Where appropriate, Social Work Service may offer a 6 month review visit and inform PreFCAT of any issues. .
